TITLE: Foreman Electrician

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-exempt
COMPENSATION: Dependent upon experience and proficiency

DESCRIPTION:

A Foreman Electrician is directly responsible for leading and working along with a crew which consists of Journeyman and/or helpers. This person organizes the work site and makes certain the materials, tools, equipment and information are on the jobsite.

REQUIREMENTS:

All applicants must sign a release and be able to pass background check which will include a criminal background check and department of motor vehicle check. Applicant must pass a drug screen.

All applicants must have reliable transportation.

All applicants must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead. Lift 51 pounds, 20 times per day. Constantly move about on the feet. Climb ladders of all types. Complete full day assignments involving overhead work. Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use. Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks. Possess good hearing, normal or corrected. Must be able to positively identify different colors of wiring.

All applicants may work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.

TITLE: Journeyman Electrician

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-exempt
COMPENSATION: Dependent upon experience and proficiency

DESCRIPTION:

Applicant must have a valid State Texas Journeyman license with 4+ years’ experience as a commercial electrician with evidence of previous electrical experience and will be responsible for understanding the electrical code through the NEC. Applicant’s work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry. Applicant must be proficient at working from plans and specifications, supervising small crews, and have knowledge of all electrical equipment and major tools. Applicant must understand the scope of drawings and demonstrates ability to supervise others in their work performance.

COMPENSATION: Dependent upon experience and proficiency

DESCRIPTION:

Applicant must have or acquire a State of Texas apprentice license prior to starting work. Applicant must have 1-3 years of experience on commercial or industrial projects, and have good mechanical aptitude. Applicant must have basic hand tools (list provided upon employment), demonstrates evidence of previous electrical experience. Applicant must have good attitude and a willingness to learn. Preferable applicants will be encouraged to enroll in the IEC Apprenticeship program.

DESCRIPTION:

This is a beginning position, open to all ages over 18. A laborer generally provides assistance to electricians in their construction activities. A laborer will perform a variety of labor tasks including site clean-up, digging and moving dirt, and debris clean-up, transferring materials to appropriate locations at jobsite. A Texas Electrical Apprentice license is required and assistance can be provided by Intex in the application process.
